Slender: The Arrival is the official re-imagining and expansion of the original game created by Mark Hadley, teamed up with the writers behind the Marble Hornets series and the development team at Blue Isle Studios. The myth of Slender started quite simply as a rumor and has also been popularized as an internet meme. It follows a previous game called Slenderman (not available on Mac) based on a similar theme but that was nowhere near as scary or successful. Slender for Mac is a first person horror game where your only goal is to find 8 manuscripts about the Slender Man, a paranormal creature. The game started as an experiment that quickly achieved viral status.

Slender, or Slender: The Eight Pages, as its full name reads, is a free indie horror game that has gained vast popularity amongst both Mac OS X and Windows players. This second game comes before in the story, but uses the same mechanics in a longer story to some what mixed effect. In the first, players are challenged to search the short game for eight pages of a book while being relentlessly haunted by a faceless man, the Slender man. The Arrival is the prologue to the first slender game, Slender: the Eight Pages, which was itself an experimental game. Instead, the game centers strongly along the story and the experience of playing through a series of events, surviving the game's terrifying antagonist, the Slender Man, until you get through to the end.
